The technology behind

Steeped

Just add filtered water to enjoy one of our picks of the season.

These Steeped bags are a simple and elegant way to present a selection of the coffees we find most exciting, removing many brewing variables, and allowing quality and character to shine.

Individual doses are ground and sealed in nitrogen-flushed packages, maintaining the clear aromatic character of freshly ground coffee, for over a year after roasting.

Simple brewing

Steeped

The brewing process is incredibly straightforward, simply pour 220 ml of filtered water over one Steeped bag, dunk, wait and enjoy. This makes the bags ideal on the go, while travelling or outdoors, anywhere you don’t have access to your normal coffee set up.

Each Steeped bag corresponds to one cup of coffee, use several to brew a larger batch.

Using filtered water with a low mineral content is still essential for the best experience. Read more about water for coffee brewing here.

Santa Ana

This coffee was grown by Claudia Mathies Rank at her farm Finca El Paraiso, which lies further down the slopes of the Santa Ana volcano, not far from the town of Santa Ana itself. The volcanic soils of Santa Ana are very fertile, leading to excellent yields as well as quality. Cherries are then transported to the Batlle family mill, Beneficio Las Tres Puertas, for processing. As with all Batlle family coffee, expectations are high, only the ripest red cherries are used, fermentation protocols are followed to the letter, and coffee is stored and dry-milled under exacting conditions.

This lot is 100% Bourbon from Claudia’s farm, processed using the natural method, giving a rich chocolate and nut experience, punctuated by some soft ripe fruit, like a sweetened cherry.
