La Cabra New York

Soho

Our new location in Soho is our vision of speciality coffee in 2023. This is our interpretation of a focussed coffee experience, with as much of the noise removed as possible. The cornerstone of La Cabra is excellent raw material, conveyed through transparent connections between guest and barista.

The space has been designed with an 'open kitchen' at its centre, bringing the focus to this connection and discussion.

In order to create this experience, we looked back at our early days in Aarhus, and considered the conversations and experiences that made us fall in love with coffee. This is our interpretation of that experience in 2023, in New York City.

Soho

K.H. Würtz

K.H. Würtz has created a new cup for our Soho location, reflecting the new tiles set into the bar front.

The tiles were created using a very similar technique to those in the East Village location, but with oxygen removed from the kilning process, created a red tone in the final glaze.

The industrial steel bar, with its imposing Würtz tile fronts, contrasts with the warmer ‘living room’ feel elsewhere in the location.

This contrast is continued with the cup, with its eye catching red glaze sitting on Soho’s warm oak tabletops.

La Cabra X K.H. Würtz

A new coffee aesthetic

The collaboration between K.H. Würtz and La Cabra has resulted in a ceramic coffee cup that reflects our shared appreciation for traditional craftsmanship.

K.H. Würtz is comprised of Aage and Kasper Würtz, a father and son team who have devoted considerable time and attention to becoming skilled ceramicists since the 1970s.

Drawing on these decades of experience, the team sets out to produce beautiful hand-crafted ceramic pieces in in their studio in Horsens, Denmark.
