We’ve arrived in Amsterdam for what will be an exciting week at the World of Coffee event. We look forward to catching up with old friends, valued clients and partners, while also forging connections with new people and companies, and learning more about their ideas and products.
Our plans for Amsterdam centre around our ‘Pop Up’ coffee bar, located on Quellijnstraat 80, open from 0800 to 1800, Tuesday 19th to Saturday 23rd of June. This is where we invite you to meet with our team to taste, discuss and share our philosophy and passion for coffee. We will feature our current seasonal line up as well as a selected number of ‘off menu’ surprises. We’re also excited to discuss new wholesale opportunities, and our recently announced New York City roastery.
Throughout the week, our pop up will also be hosting a number of events by some of our friends in the industry. We wanted our space to act as a platform for passionate individuals and companies to share their ideas and products with a like-minded group in a relaxed atmosphere.
Below is a schedule of what we have planned for the week.
Ronny Billemon is a respected coffee and water expert. He’s been ever-present in our industry assisting coffee businesses and individuals with his extensive water and coffee knowledge, whilst having a very present involvement with the WBC water set-up. Ronny will be joining us for the official launch of his book ‘Equilibrium in Water and Coffee’. We will have a water and coffee tasting, and a discussion about his recent work.
Maxwell Colonna-Dashwood needs no introduction, he’s one of a few names that have really been driving the topic of water to the forefront of coffee discussions since his focussed 2014 World Barista Championship routine and the success of ‘Water for Coffee’. Now he is launching ‘Peak Water’, an innovative new product which will allow you to test and tailor your tap water for better brewing, aided by a group of esteemed industrial designers and water experts.
At La Cabra, we are incredibly determined to foster meaningful and transparent relationships with producers and farmers from around the world. Over the last few years, we have been humbled to collaborate, exchange knowledge, and share spectacular coffees, with two of what we believe to be industry-leading coffee producers. Although separated by thousands of miles, Daterra Coffee and Cafe Granja La Esperanza share many values, they produce quality-driven coffees and display an unwavering determination to redefine coffee producing at the farm level. We are excited to bring both together to taste their recent harvests and learn more about their ideas and techniques.
Correctly identify the ‘odd-one-out’ and the fermentation method in this triangulation challenge, and you could win a selection of La Palma y El Tucán's famed Heroes Series. This limited edition WoC selection includes 4 x 1kg packs featuring different processes from this innovative producer from Colombia.
Aside from our events and coffees available at our Pop Up cafe, we will also be present with some of our valued partners at the World of Coffee show at RAI Amsterdam. See the below schedule for a chance to taste our coffees and learn more from our trusted manufacturers, producers and import partners.
Our relationship with Daterra continues to grow, as we seek to present their most progressive and innovative coffees, that we feel showcase Brazilian terroir in a unique and exciting way. Come by to hear their story and taste Jaci Honey from our current seasonal selection.
InCoNexus is a valued partner for our green buying in Colombia, they will be hosting us as we brew our fresh seasonal lots from our recent visit to Huila in Colombia.
Our partnership with Ally Coffee was established recently, and further enhanced through our extensive joint sourcing trip to Brazil last October. Come by their stand to sample the coffees from this trip and hear the story of our partnership with them.
For some time now, we have been converts to the benefits of a Puqpress in a modern coffee bar. The incorporation of this valued piece of technology has raised the bar for our consistency and workflow. At the Puqpress stand you can taste two of our seasonal lots prepared on a Kees van der Westen Spirit by 2011 Dutch Barista Champion Yakup Aydin.
